The Yamazaki Limited Edition 2014 is composed of three single malts: some single malts aged 20 years in sherry casks made out of European oak that were used for maturing red wines, another single malt aged 20 years in port wine casks made out of European oak that were previously used for maturing port wines, blended with a young single malt aged in bourbon barrels made out of American white oak. This edition was released for duty-free purchase only. It is a limited edition of the award-winning Japanese single malt and earned Gold at the 2007 International Spirits Challenge, along with a Double Gold at the 2005 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A safe buy if ever there was one.
