This fine expression was created at the world famous Yamazaki distillery using peated malt. The distillery has created peated expressions before, but they are few and far between, and only a tiny portion of peated spirit goes into their flagship expressions, so this is certainly something a bit different. It brings elegant, gentle notes of sweet fruits, creamy caramel and a subtle nuttiness, all backed up by that every present whiff of thick peat smoke*
